Information about puppies...
Making a decision to add a puppy to your family is not something that should be done on an impulse, nor is buying a puppy as a surprise "gift" for a loved one . It's important to remember that the decision to add a Siberian (or any dog) to your life involves a 10-15 year commitment and should be treated as such. Since most people would purchase a new car and keep it for a few years and then trade it in or move from one house to another one in a shorter period of time than the average lifespan of a Siberian Husky, wouldn't it make sense to put as much thought into the investment and commitment of purchasing a dog as it would into a car or house since likely your dog will be around through 1-2 moves of residence and at least 2-3 changes of a car?
Anyone considering purchasing a Siberian Husky should do a considerable amount of research into this breed and decide if it truly is the right breed for you. There are good and bad traits that may or may not make a Siberian Husky the ideal companion for you and your family. After doing the research and deciding this is the right breed for you, the next step is to find a reputable breeder.
There are many reasons people breed Siberian Huskies, but most of them are not good reasons. Beware of anyone who only has dogs and does nothing with them except feed them and breed them. Beware of breeders who tell you that you are getting a show-quality dog, yet have no champions or titled dogs in their kennel. Beware of breeders who do not tell you right away that they have their dogs' eyes examined annually by a Canine Ophthalmologist or have their dogs' hips certified with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), chances are if they don't mention it, they don't do it. And if they don't do it, then the chances are higher that you may get a puppy that will develop genetic eye disorders that can lead to blindness in some cases, or a debilitating joint abnormality known as hip dysplasia. The chances of buying a puppy that may develop these things is lessened by conscientious breeders who check their breeding stock for these things to make sure that they are not breeding dogs that are affected with these genetic conditions.
Now, about Ziemabora puppies...
We strive to breed only the best examples of the breed that we possibly can. All potential parents are or have been conformation show dogs and come down from generations of careful breeding. Temperament is very important to us and our puppies are child-socialized and spoiled rotten by the time they leave us! We do not breed for any particular coat color or eye color because those things are purely cosmetic. You wouldn't choose your friends by the color of their eyes or hair, so does it make sense to choose "man's BEST friend" strictly based on these traits? Correct breed type, structure, movement, health and disposition are what we focus on.
We breed only a few litters each year- we focus on quality, not quantity. If we do not have any litters of our own, we may be able to refer you to a reputable breeder who does.
We have dogs from our breeding being shown in many countries throughout the world. Many of our dogs are multi-titled, meaning that they have competed in several countries and completed their championships in those countries. We are very proud of this!
-All of our breeding stock is evaluated annually by an AVCO Canine Ophthalmologist.
-Our dogs are OFA certified after the age of 2 years old.
All of our puppies are vet-checked before leaving us. They will be up-to-date on vaccinations, given by our veterinarian, appropriate for their age. They will also have been dewormed several times and started on Heartworm Preventative. We also offer a written health guarantee on every puppy. All of our dogs are registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC), and occasionally dual registered with the United Kennel Club (UKC). Each buyer is furnished with puppy food to get started with, a health/ vaccination record, four-generation pedigree, and appropriate registration paperwork.
When you obtain a puppy from us, either for show or strictly as a pet, you will be required to sign a legally-binding contract. We screen potential buyers very carefully to make sure our puppies are placed in the best homes possible, so please do not be offended if we ask a lot of questions. The safety and well-being of our puppies is of the utmost importance to us. Before considering a potential buyer, we require that an Application be filled out. If you are serious about wanting to obtain one of our siberians- be it a puppy or adult, if you do not have time or patience to fill out the Application, it is likely you also will not have the time or patience to own a Siberian Husky. A completed application is required for any adoption or sale- whether for a puppy or adult dog; and both potential domestic and foreign buyers will need to complete the Application.
We do not sell dogs for "breeding"; the only puppies we grant full registration to are those that are placed in verifiable show homes and are required to be shown. All puppies placed as pets are sold on limited registration and must be spayed/neutered.
We generally have most of our puppies already reserved by the time they are born. We accept a non-refundable deposit (meaning that if the buyer changes his/her mind about buying a puppy, they do not get their deposit back) to place a potential buyer on our reservation list. After the puppies are born and we decide what puppy or puppies we are keeping, depositors are granted their choice of the remaining puppies based on which depositor was first to place a deposit and then on down the line. If, by chance, we do not have enough puppies for all depositors or no puppy matching the specific preference of the depositor at the time the deposit was accepted, the depositor then has the option of carrying the deposit over to the next litter or the deposit will be refunded.
IMPORTANT!!! Anyone wanting to purchase one of our puppies needs to understand that we breed only when we want to produce something for ourselves. With this being the case, we can accept a deposit on a male or female puppy preference; however we cannot accept a deposit on any particular puppy until such time as we have made our decision as to what we are keeping. This is typically done at about 8 weeks of age. If you are interested in a high quality puppy- we can help you. If you feel you must have "the blue-eyed one" in the litter just because it has blue eyes or else don't want one if it can't be that one, we probably are not the type of breeder you are looking for. There are many people out there that breed Siberians and don't care about anything else but getting blue-eyed puppies. Although we would never recommend that anyone buy a puppy from someone who capitalizes on blue eyes and cares about nothing else, if you must have a blue-eyed puppy in order to love it, you need to look elsewhere. The love of a Siberian Husky as a breed goes so much deeper then the color of the eyes, and we are dedicated to the breed in it's entirety.
We will ship puppies via airline to anywhere in the USA and to most countries outside of the USA. The buyer will be responsible to pay for the airfare, shipping crate purchase, and veterinarian paperwork (health certificate) if shipped within the USA. If shipping outside of the USA, the previous items plus import paperwork, customs fees, as well as any lab testing and quarantine requirements, if applicable, will also be the responsibility of the buyer. We ship internationally out of Chicago O'Hare International airport.
