Each Sunday, in our Prayers of the People, we pray for one of our sister
churches around the world. Sometimes a church in Africa or Europe or Asia is
named along with its Presiding Bishop. We get these names from the Anglican Cycle
of Prayer which list a different Diocese or National Church for us to pray for
on each day of the year. It is published by Forward Movement for the Anglican
Church. Similarly, each Sunday we pray a congregation within our own diocese and
its Rector or Senior Warden or a Diocesan organization. We get these names from
a Diocesan Cycle of Prayer published by the Diocese.
Now we have our own Cycle of Prayer. We have taken the latest congregational
directory, made a few additions and then devised a calendar designed to enable
yo to pray for each member of our congregation once a month. Each day you pray
for the people listed on that day of the month; pray for Beverley,
Pat, Linda, Ted, Mary, Ed, Marylyn and Trinity’s
Staff on the first day of the month; Michael, Joyce, Alexis, Olga, Harvey,
Simone. John and the Vestry
on the second day of the month and so on.
