The ministry of all persons is to represent Christ and his Church; to bear witness to him wherever they may be and, according to the gifts given them, to carry on Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world; and to take their place in the life, worship, and governance of the Church. The Book of Common Prayer
Very one at an Episcopal worship service has an important part to play by singing, praying, responding, and receiving. In addition there are some particular ministries associated with the service. The Altar Guild make sure that the church is properly setup for the service. The Ushers greet people and facilitate the flow of the service. Acolytes perform a variety of tasks during the service that bring dignity to our worship. Readers proclaim the scripture for the day and lead us in intercessory prayer. Oblation bearers bring forward the bread and wine used for the communion. Chalice bearers aid in the administration of the Eucharist. And Fellowship Hosts make our fellowship after the service more inviting.
